Ok, so I was just wondering what the general consensus is on this before I post anything to my gallery.

If a piece of pixel art I'm working on is inspired by another piece on this site, and is indeed very similar to it, but worked over entirely from scratch, pixel by pixel by me, is that ok in general? Obviously I would mention and link to the other artists work.

I was looking through the pixel art on the site and found this piece:

http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/29811.htm - http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/29811.htm

I loved the style of the monsters, and want to try to make some of my own. The first one I have come up with is in a similar stance and style (but not as good).

(It still needs a little work).

Once again: this was inspired by the above link, but was done completely from scratch. Thoughts?
