Hi there, I am kinda new with this Pixel Art stuffs and I'm really interested in trying after I had browsed through the Gallery and stumbled upon tons of interesting and beautiful pieces. Well, back to the point , since I just started I need help on what should I create first that's simple and basic that'll help me to improve later on. What are the first rules of pixel arts and the basics of it. Like, what to draw first and practice on ? I really need help, so thanks in advance :)

My suggestion start small. Start with a collab, and an edit job. http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3764 - Check here .

The original image is gone, so I'll re-upload it to tiny pic.

Try 'pimping' this first. And then we'll see where to go from there. :)

Hello and welcome to Pixeljoint

My sugestions are:
1. when on the forum, before you listen to somebody, click thought to theyr gallery and see if they know what they are talking about or are basicaly as newb as you (no offence)

2. in this case Greenaraven is basicaly right. Start small.
But instead of colab, which imo is not a good place for you as a beginner if you really want to learn something, start really small.
Like with a cube. Not joking.

Find tutorial section and go one by one. Lot of simple geometrical objects involved there.
Also what I wrote forum_posts.asp?TID=11051&PID=137668#137668 - HERE might be helpful.
Stay with simple shapes until you learn the basics.

For more fun, you can ie make a still life image made of basic primitives.
Or a geometrical landscape.
Or make a simple cartoony blocky character.

Just stay small, clear, simple style, until you'll feel (and experienced people will tell you) that you know what you are doing.

Good luck! ;)
