Hi everyone! I am running an Etsy shop that specializes in super cute hard candies, painted chocolates and cookies.
The name of the shop is Happy Dessert Time! And I'm going for a really cutesy, Japanesey look.
I have a logo I've made up which is already pixel art (and I offer pixel art chocolates!) and so I'm looking for someone that can do really cute/happy/fun pixellized candy - truffles, bon bons, chocolates, heart shaped things, star shaped things, even acorns would be cool! I'll be using those with the logo I have currently for my shop banner and business cards and would give you full credit and recognition as well as payment.
If anyone is interested, reply here - I might be a little slow to check, but I promise I will! :) I also can be reached at happydesserttime [at] gmail.com
For anyone interested, my shop is here - http://happydesserttime.etsy.com
not much up yet, but I am definitely working on getting more up. :)
Thanks for reading!

Hello! My name is Sky, and I'd love to help you with your shop! However, right now I have no PayPal or anything, and am really just looking for experience and publicity, so I would be happy to do them for free. If you're interested in seeing art beforehand, I can send you samples, and you by no means have to use the artwork if you aren't happy with it. Thank you!

Hi Sky. Please don't offer to work for free in public when someone is offering a paid commission. If you really are so desperate that you have to work for free, the cool thing to do is to send the client a private message or an email and keep it quiet. Paypal is free and easy and takes about 5 minutes to set up.
You have now effectively stopped anyone else from replying to this thread. From all the others, thanks, we didn't want that job anyway. Also, next time a paying client comes here they'll expect someone like you to stick your hand up and so will be less likely to offer paid work. Imagine if a plumber advertised in the yellow pages offering to work for free. Home owners would start to expect to get their plumbing for free, the bottom would drop out of the plumbing industry and plumbers would all have to find new jobs. And at the end of the day there'd be leaking toilets everywhere because the plumbing was done by incompetent amateurs.
Your parents pay for you to live so you can have the luxury of working for free. How would you feel if someone came along and offered to do your mother/ father's job for nothing and put them out of work?
The reason this person has offered a fee for these services is because they need them to be performed to a professional standard. That means client communications, quality design and a clean, attractive finished project. A nice easy little project for a semi pro or a student to get some experience in freelancing. Experience like negotiating fees, delivery schedules, rights and expectations.
When you offer to work for experience only, you undermine the industry
you hope to one day be employed in. This will affect you personally in
the future.
I'm sure you mean well, just something to bear in mind for the future.
