Well, originally I learned pixel art all wrong. I already gout out of the pillow-shading, tooling, and poor dithering stages. But I feel like I'm not getting any better no matter how much I practice. I read over the noobtorials but I haven't learned anything new. I'm wondering if theres anything more advanced? I've been Googling tutorials for so long and I give up. I finally decided to register an account. I've asked elsewhere, but the answer is always 'practice'. I don't even know what I should be practicing on or how I should be practicing. Everything I've tried doesn't help. I've spent years spriting things, but theres been barely any improvement. So what should I be doing? Am I just not creative enough? :/ And how do I make my own palette? I've been using palettes other people made and I can't just figure out how I would be doing my own. So, if you have any guides for something a bit more advanced than the noobtorials, please share. I hate begging, but it doesn't seem like I can learn anything more on my own.

(I'm feeling kinda shy about my work to actually post anything at the moment..)

I don't know what the problems you're facing are, so I don't know what you should be practicing either. Post something you're working on in the WIP forum and we'll be able to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. Making a good palette relies entirely upon your understanding of http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10695 - color theory .

There's really no way to give you any helpful advice without actually seeing what you're struggling with.

Wow, with such a level of dedication and ambition you have every possibility to become a good artist. But all the theory in the world is not gonna help if you never get your feet wet. What you could use now is feedback on some work...no reason to be shy here; there's plenty of nice ppl at PJ who will provide constructive criticism if you ask for it (and probably even if you don't ;) ). No need to panic coz you haven't mastered every aspect of pixel-art already...just the fact that you are aware of so many issues is a good sign that you are on the right path...just take it one step at at a time. (ok, that sounded a bit cheesy...but it's still true! :D)

I hope I'm not stressing you further by saying that I'm a bit curious now. ;)
