We are indie game developers looking for 2D artists to partner with for a Medieval RPG for the Windows Phone 7 platform. We are in the middle of development and the game is currently playable but has lots of content still to be added (probably 2-3 months before we will be ready to ship). We have already shipped 1 game on the WP7 platform called "Gumzoobo" that you can check out ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erIU_S2XOuc - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erIU_S2XOuc ), it is in the top 50. This is a great opportunity to work on a high quality full featured game that you can be confident will ship in a reasonable amount of time.
The game play will be fast paced action and feel like a cross between old school zelda and diablo. It features a broad range of spells\skills for the player to master as well as lots of sweet epic loot to be discovered. Furthermore, it has dynamic dungeon generation to help it feel fresh no matter how long you play it. The perspective is from a top down angle similar to the MMORPG Tibia (do a search to get examples if you want).
These are the assets that we need...
- Dungeon tiles (walls, floor, and objects)
- Enemies (goblins, skeletons, etc...)
- The player (wielding a sword or bow)
- Weapons\Items
- Spell projectiles (lightning bolts, fireballs, etc...)
- UI (boarders, windows, buttons)
The enemies\player will need 5 perspectives (up, down, right, diagonals) and a walk, attack and die animation. We haven’t locked down what the tile size will be yet, but it will probably be 32x32 for the environment tiles as well as the weapons/items. The player/enemies won’t be constrained to a specific frame size
We are hoping to find artists that will have as much fun with this project as we are having. You will be treated as members of the team, and we would love to have you contribute with your ideas for the game as well as your art. Profit share will be determined by the amount that you are able to contribute (it’s ok if you only have time for a small slice, we don’t expect to own your life). If you are interested please send examples of your work and which assets you are interested in working on to s.m.bayless@gmail.com. Also, I would be happy to answer any of your questions at that address.
