It's been a couple months since I've even completed a piece of pixel work, so I'm starting off simple to get back in shape. I usually have good mouse control even without a tablet, but it felt like I was spazzing all over the place. Which goes to show that if you don't regularly do something your skills go to pot. ):
Trying out a new way to color: blocking out shapes before I go into shade. I usually just have an outline and start shading from there.
Then once I've finished this big version, I will--might start downsizing as an exercise.
Already see an issue with the right arm. = 3=;;

I think eyes should be a little closer to each other. Also feet look like they are bent inwards.

i rly like the palette, but i think it can be cut down a lot
some anatomy issues here and there, her/his left arm looks strange, i cant rly make out whats going on there
her right arm seems a bit stiff
also i agree with lazer about the feet
heres a bit of an edit

What he said. I think that onek's feet are even weirder though, but maybe thats just me.
Simply switched them, the pose looks a little less painful now. :b
edit: more edits!
Lowered right arm, inverted legs, body moved slightly to the left (and one pixel down but that was accidental), left arm done, and I think thats all I changed.
One thing I noticed here is that you seem to be pretty good at anatomy, but you draw arms/legs mirrored

that left (our left) sleeve has got to pull into the body more like in Onek's edit. thats actually the most bothersome part of the piece to me lol. but the clipboard arm does need to be moved (i'd say move it to how Lucas has it)
i dont see anything wrong with being pigeon-toed (thats what I've always heard of that kind of stance referred to as), however, the feet are shown both straight on at the same angle when the body is actually turned slightly, so they shouldn't be straight on. Onek's edit of the feet are actually really nice though, since it adds a feeling of movement, which is more interesting and dynamic than simply standing there

Thanks for all the advice! (:
@Lucas: Oh, you caught me. Yes, I definitely get very lazy once I reach the legs. xD;;
I thought Onek's edit was a little more relaxed, so I tried that out first.
Purple's a little saturated, but I'll deal with that later.

Great improvement. Her left arm could be a few pixels higher, though. And the left foot could be one or two pixels to the right and maybe one pixel up, unless she's supposed to be walking, then move it a few pixels down to make it more clear. And in both cases edit the leg to match the foot's new position.
Not sure if that makes sense, let me know if you need me to make an edit to show what I meant xD

I think I understood what you meant.

Great progress. [:
I felt that your folds might've been a little too big And from where I think your lighting is coming from, the book would probably not cast any shadows on the clothing, it'd be on the ground instead, but pretty non noticeable. For it to be on her shirt, the light would have to be in front of her, which, by how you shaded the book and the arm, I'm guessing it isn't.
And I forgot to do this in my edit, but I'd continue that line on her left leg to make it stand out from the right more, right now they look like they're on the same level.

Ahh, fixed/drastically reduced folds.

Why dont you say that youre straight out aiming for a syosa style
|

Date Posted: 10 December 2010 at 7:09pm
That's awfully blunt, but yes, I did draw inspiration from Syosa (especially from the downsizing idea). WAS going to mention it in the description, but okay, I'll admit it now. xD;
EDIT: Sorry if it was irritating/etc that I didn't mention it, but it truly didn't occur to me at the time of the post to write it in.

Not really such a big deal.
I think the shirt could use more contrast. Kinda hard to see the shading now.

Agreed with lucas_irineu about the contrast, maybe the pants too.

@ChrisButton: I only changed the contrast on the left pants leg because I thought the right had enough contrast.

Great.
Don't like the pants all that much though, they feel really flat. I like the pattern, but it could use some shading as well. Just making one leg darker isn't really doing it here.
I can make an edit to show what I mean later, but right now I gotta leave, since its 3 am and I'm about to pass out.

Hmm..Better or worse?

Much better, I'd say.
But you could still add some lighter colours to the back leg, since some lighting would still reach it.
And I don't really get the blue/purple down there.

I had a reason for doing it yesterday, but I can't remember. >__<;; Looking at it now, I was probably trying to create shadows and evidently it didn't work. Hahaha.

Haha. Looks much better now. Really dig it. You plan on adding a background or just calling it finished now?

Yay, Awesome~ C: I'll try a background this time since none of my other pieces have one besides the weekly challenge.

Alright, great. Your work on that BG was pretty great. It was really simple and at the same time, it worked really well. Can't wait to see what you're going to do now.

Hahaha, really? I put it back for now.
Aaand...I hate curtains. Going to ignore that space for now. Also, really, really confused about how many blues I'm using and where. And that's never a good sign. @__@;
Any problems with the chair's structure?

I lied. The chair started annoying me so I started on the curtains instead. Mirrored the ends because I was feeling lazy. xD
The pattern at the bottom of the chair isn't going to stay, I don't think. It's kind of giving me a headache.

I can't really tell what, but soemthing feels off about the chair's feet. Good luck on the background.

Doing very well, from the topic's start to now had a big evolution.. Here's some points:

One thing what i feel weird is about the sofa's left arm, he has a drop like shape and his end seem strange to me.. and a little above, the stamp seems out of perspective, invading the arm area, dont know how to explain exactly, but look ambiguous.
Good luck =]

Agree with qramon on the left arm thing, but I probably wouldn't even notice it if qramon wouldn't have pointed it out

Dude your last chair kinda looks like my "Space chairs" I had once "My mom called 'em space chairs cause they look like the ones in star trek) but my space chairs where gray, so it kinda looks better

This has improved so much since the beginning posts! I love the colors and patterns. However, I think the character might look even better with larger feet, and I'm not so sure about the red outline.

Gamer: Haha, thanks? xDD;; I've never watched Star Trek so I'm afraid I'm a little lost.
Sharifa: Thanks. C: I wanted the girl to pop by using such a saturated red, because any other color blends in with some part of the girl too much and it looked weird. Would a less saturated red work better?
Ugh. What is wrong this chair?! :( There's something wrong with the arm. I know it's the angle of the armrest (It should be going down and not up right?!), but whatever angle I try looks funny. =___=

One of the lines was going the wrong way. But there's still something off and I can't find it. It's driving me crazy.

not sure if this helps but this is what I see.
Also, small feet are totally awesome. I like the purple shadow <3

@H|F: Yeeees, that helped immensely! <3 Now I see that the left side needed to be curved more so I can raise the left armrest higher without making the left side all weird and weirdity. I'm taking it out for now and going back to when I only had the armrest on the right side because it simply looks better.
Also, yes, red lines are the new black. You knooow it!
However, for now, I need to put the background on hold because I have more pressing RL (boo) things to take care of. I'll just submit the girl as she is now and update it later when I get around to doing the background (if I ever).
Thanks for all the help, guys. You rock~!
