that picture I'm doing is part of a bigger fresco. It will represent a kraken who taking off a lighthouse, and at the clouds, a dead head where will be monsters come out of his mouth ^^'
here is the monster, the first of a large series:

heyyyy pixeljoint ! sorry for the double post and the rewinding but it's for a fair cause HINHINHIN ! I continued the kraken after a big break few weeks ago, I've changed most of the picture and at all I came to this:

I removed half of the death's head and the tentacle on the left by put here the mugiwara's boat (one piece), also I drew the kraken who taking the luffy's punch (elephant gun !). At the vortex in the clouds there will be one piece's characters and other characters who'll emerge (the beyond where all of the human imagination is present)... don't know if you understood with my bad english xD
so that's it...

I usually dislike pieces that have too much going on in them, however I'm loving this so far.
Not much else to say at the moment, but keep up the good work!

Maybe you could free the pirate ship from the lines. It's not that it's bad, it just doesn't fit this piece.

Wow this is getting better by day loll
one problem i can see is that the place where the rocks are and the ground look like they connect with the boat it need a lil bit more depth
liking that zoro attack......and everything else so far
cant wait to see who/what else u add or do in this pic
Great work so far

This is awesome, especially being a fan of one pice (even if i hate it a little because of all the repetition and dragonball-style narration).
Its also so detailed, the boat is perfect :)

Well either that or it's supposed to be skypiea, and the Ligthing is due to Enel, but that doesn't make much since since there's no sea in skypiea. Just speculating :P
This is looking rather good though, good technique.
I dug the skullthingy more than the cosmic-waterfall though, it reminded me of an Iron Maiden cover.

the green deck of the pirate ship looks really weird because it blends into the green hill. And I miss the skull in the top right! Btw, mindblowlingly good piece. I hope you continue and eventually upload the finished version

thanks a lot =) there is no more skull, i replaced it with a vortex (between the imagination dimension). Unfortunately, in one piece, the thousand sunny's dec has a grass floor :/

Poor, poor Surume. He's merely misunderstood. I'm loving all of the references. It sure has changed a lot since the original post.

Lets remember to sprinkle some critique in these responses, one-liners are fine in the gallery but the WIP section is for constructive criticism.
These is really massive, and very well-pixelled, definitely impressive in that respect. However it doesn't feel at all like a cohesive image. I definitely see what you're going for, throwing Ina little bit of everything for a where's-Waldo sort of effect, but it's evident there wasn't a lot of planning put in to the overall composition or palette. The result is a lot of things that are interesting in isolation but an overall image that is pretty confusing.
I still say finish it up of course, I'd just do more planning for composition/colors/narrative in the future.

Thanks a lot for your remark cure and all the others too :3 The fact is there is a kind of anarchy due to the liberation of imagination, so they can't be any logic or cohesion in this piece. Also, I'm not accustomed to make a palette at the beggining, i prefer pick them on the spectrum progressively :p At the end, maybe i'll try to decrease the number of colors, but not to much xd if you want to see a brief plan, look at this:

that would be larger maybe, but at the center, we can clearly see the center of the breach where the imagination/creativity is represented by a brain, but maybe i could make something else ? elsewhere around of it, few creations out: i put categories of what it might be there, but this is not yet on.
(sorry if i made mistakes in my english xd)

That's the best thing I've ever seen in my life.
I really like how this is going. The kraken texturing is my favorite part. Grass looks great too.
I think you should tone down the dithering in some places. And some things look a bit flatter/softer than they should, such as the dragon scales and the clouds. Colors could use a bit more contrast too. Make them nice and bright, make them pop. Don't worry about trying to hide pixels, it's pixel art, they're meant to show =]

I disagree with Cure's comment and think your composition does achieve its desired result, which I think is simply to be a smorgasbord for the eyes. I think the elements mix in a splendid cohesion though it is chaotic because each element does seem to possess compositional power. Everything fits well together like a topsy turvy puzzle. The image is fun and displays unrestrained imagination with enough going on for an actually sound compositional effect.
If one looks past the actual objects and tries to just see the image geometrically, it works quite well in my opinion.
And the pixel work is top notch

In most beginning pixel art tutorials, the first thing they teach you, is AA and dithering. They really shouldn't. They are concepts you should learn after mastering cell shading, shapes and texturing.
Most pixel art tutorial are written by people who aren't very good at pixel art...

It would be cool if there were colour palettes and everything you've mentioned in video tutorials on youtube for people that learn visually. Instead there are a lot of people that only show how they make a simple pixel drawing : /
By the way, the only thing that i don't like too much in this piece are the choice of colours, everything else it's great.
