Pixels nowadays are not as common an Artform compared to other
mediums. Pixels mainly are used in Handheld portable phones, or
gaming devices. They aren't used very often in big name titles for the
current consols.
My questions:
Do you guys think pixel art will stay?
If not, how close is the end?
Will we be forced to pursue different mediums?

even if the game industry stops using it doesnt mean it will die as an artform.

I'd be surprised if games stop using them completely. :/
As an art-form though, I don't see why they'd stop; nearly everyone with access to a computer can attempt it.

as long as things still rely on pixel displays, things will also rely on pixels. thus pixel-art shall live as long as the pixel.

Sadly, no. By the year 2525, All governments of the world will outlaw computers. Pixel artists will seek work as fishmongers in the new world. And because they had their hands removed(due to new preventive art rules), it will be very hard to fillet those fish.
Oh I left one question...sorry.
The ony art allowed will be clog painting.(The Dutch have a leg up on us here.)
YOU paint the bottoms of your clogs.

I hate it when people say that. It's legal in a weird and twisted way. Also known as the Dutch way.

i think dutch people should have vager rules, like you can have as
much as fits under your hat, or in your mouth. Or the same weight
as a small antelope.

you can only carry 10 gramms on the streets, for own use, and you may only have 1 hemp plant for own use, and you may not deal or buy it, and if cops see it they may confiscate it i think.
my last name is ''te hennepe'' (hennep = hemp) whoo! and my hair is green!.. well washed out green but green nonetheless! i dont do drugs though.. just alcohol muffins and caffeine&taurine (= energydrinks) ooh and lots of sugar. sugar is good! so is chocolate! hmm chocomuffins
another weird thing is this weird thingie, which is quite weirdish:
when american people split the bill (like on a date) they call it ''going dutch'', but here we call it ''american style''

I look foward to selling fish......as a fishmonger.
But seriously people have been doing"Pixel Art" for hundreds of years. Just think of mosiac making. I think the romans had that down.

Pixel art returned in cellphone and gameboy advance games, but now, even those platforms support 3D games. I guess that could be the reason we wouldn't be seeing pixel art used in newer profesional (commercial) games very often.
But there are plenty of indie developers using pixel art, and projects like dosbox, scummVM or various emulators, so simple folk like you and me can enjoy the oldies.
Now where did I put my NES and the Battletoads cartridge?

I remember loving the GBA for keeping those alive but the DS is doing well too.
Look at Kirby Canvas Curse and Mr Driller etc.
Some mobiles are using 3D technology iirc (Duke Nukem?) but they'll always be restricted by screensize, where pixel-art excels.

Do you guys think pixel art will stay?
Indie developers will keep it alive in gaming for sure. There's a huge
community of homebrew game developers for a lot of the 2D systems. Also
there's the various other things pixel art is used for. Magazine
advertisements and promos, website design, and stand alone art are just
a few things. Plus, there's always the demoscene, but I'd personally be
afraid to even consider getting into that.

As long as there are devices that display graphics in pixel form then pixel art will remain. We may not think it, but still much of the GUIs of most of the popular programs of the world (including operation systems) are pixel art. Most people's first encounter with computerized design is MS Paint, still one of the most popular programs among pixel artists.
It'll die when devices stop supporting it.
Aramax, I don't think there's any argument whether pixel art is still alive or not, heck, this site is in itself part of the testament that it's still very much alive :P
