Hello,

I'm creating monsters for a game of mine.
After my http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/58745.htm# - forest guardian , here comes some giant demon.

There are 2 variations, one being stronger. I simply played with the hues.

The player sprite is 32x32, so this demon is large, 3-4 meters high.

Since I started this visual style, inspired by the Final Fantasy 6 sprites, I've been learning a lot about shading, coloring, and controlling the viewer's eye.

Everything is 95% done, except for the forearms. I don't know what to put there, probably some canon, justifying the pipes coming from his back.

So, is anybody seeing something wrong in my piece?
And does anyone have some original idea about what a demon might wear on his forearms?

They look great, in my opinion. The only thing I would say is that they seem a bit noisy, i would probably try to bring down the contrast. Of course, that's more of a stylistic issue so if that's the look you're going for, keep it.

As for the forearms, maybe a cannon, or just a well-placed arm band. Or even a really menacing-looking watch :o

Yeah, the contrast is high, I keep a high range of values, about 90% difference, because I want high readability of small details, which in turn give a feeling of scale

Finally, I made his forearms mouth-like.

It is submitted to the gallery http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/58832.htm - here . Thanks for the feedback :)
