Surfing the internet yesterday, I came across a post in an RPG forum for a homegrown RM2K game.

Reading through it I noted that the apparent creator of said game; Darkhalo, had been stealing pixel art and tilesets left, right and center, even admitting to stealing graphics from The Sims.

One thing he'd stolen, a pixel house, I recognised as art from this very site. A work by Pixelkiwi, some of you may also recognize it:

And here is the graphic used in this homegrown game:

Now, I know that Pixelkiwi made this for a project he was working on with a few other people (Sunken Orchestra) so I immediately sent an email his way to inform him.

However, things don't look like they're going over too well at the forum, and I'm concerned that Pixelkiwi's graphic will be used without permission in this dismal and, quite frankly, ugly looking game.

The link to the forum post is here:

I'd strongly urge everyone to check to see if this Darkhalo has stolen anyone else's work to use in his Frankenstein game. (There's lots of different tile sets and face graphics, all appear ripped).

Wanted to get the heads-up out there,

Cheers.

Ouch!
I frequent the RPG Maker forums and I knew he used ripped sprites from, I think, RO. I didn't know he was using anything else.
I don't know him personally, but that's just low. :(

If any one does see their stuff used like this, I'm sure a moderator on that forum would remove the content at least. Maybe warn the offender...

isn't this old news? I checked up on this a while back (over at their forums) and kiwi had already discussed the issue with the artist in question, who said the art in question has since been replaced.

Yeah, I posted this thread early last month, it's since been sorted.
