Hello pixel joint staff, first of all I want to you guys know I really admire your individual work as pixel artists. My complain is about my piece you guys rejected because you claim is not pixel art (galamot RPG). My question is, are you guys saying that artwork from games such as chrono trigger or the old fashion RPGs for the SNES are not pixel art? All I did in this piece was using layers, tiles and a couple of brushes I made myself. I dont see the case in prohibiting the use of simple pixel brushes, is just like using the spray paint tool on MSPaint. No gradients, transparency or anti alias are used. I even subtracted the color pallet from original pixel artwork of square enix old games. Anyway I trust you guys know what you are doing, I just need a more specific answer for the rejection. Thank you.

Could you upload it to something like photobucket and link to it here? Once something has been sent back for revision regular members can't see it even if we go to your gallery.
I don't think anyone here doesn't consider 'old fashion RPGs" to be pixel art, so no worries there, unless there's something I don't know about. What's this about a custom brush though? Also, could you explain what you mean by "subtracted the color pallet from original pixel artwork" because I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by that.

He means he got the colors from a larger palette related to some console game. I dunno why it wasn't let in personally, we'll have to wait for the mod who made the call to drop in.

I did not send it back but suspect that it was rejected because of the grass possibly being taken as NPA.
I inspected closely and with your explanation of custom pixel brushes I have no problem with this being added as pixel art as it does show 'some' control.
Please note that the MSPaint brush is not considered pixel art as there is no control on the pixel level and submissions that use them do always get sent back.
Your gallery proves you understand creating pixelart and the Mod who sent this back really should have taken your body of work into account with such a borderline and legit confusion. Frankly I had to look very close to find the pixel brush. You have another piece that is equally confusing "Visit to Kyoto".
We'll wait and see if the Mod replies to state their opinion. This may have been our error and if so you can re-submit and hope that meanie isn't online :)
@tanuki, This is the piece in question ../files/icons/full/cv_galamot_rpgsmall.png">
