Hi guys, I am working on my first iPhone game and need assistance with the art. It's a running game with more flexibility in the control of the character. Great jump control + other abilities/entities that allow the player to remain in motion. It's catered to a more tension/thrill seeking gamer (read hardcore). Before I go further, here is an alpha:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw_AE9T8QJQ

As you go along it gets faster and the platforms narrower so the ability to let go of the jump at the right time and use the warps+platforms correctly becomes pretty tense.

I can get it up and polished within 2 weeks but I'm not in a rush. What I'm looking for is a background replacement - i'm not going to include the sun and the clouds that you see here so a full background for the iPhone.

I can discuss specifics but basically BG (possibly 3-4 and more later), possibly (if you have examples of a run) character animation for running (about 10 frames) falling (1-3f) jumping (1-3f) stomping (3-5f). Platform art + some sort of bottom landscape image. Since the character dies when he falls and I'm not keen on the player running on skyscrapers since that is done a lot, I was hoping to have maybe some sort of 50(?) pixel height max ocean/river bank.

With regards to payment I am open to suggestions currently, hourly or if you can give me an estimation for the total work. Of course I'd like to see some examples of your work as well. I've been checking this place regularly since joining a few days ago and will be back often :)

I Would like to begin work within the month at least and I to collude with the art ideas (butt my head/sketches in).

Best wishes

Yasir

Thank for your interest. I am in contact with several artists at the moment and i have not decided as this is only the first day.

I am looking to spend between $800-1200 for all the work mentioned in the first post. I am open to discounted hourly rates for partial revenue share for a few months - open to discussion and not essential but optional if you have confidence in the project.

The art style + colours I am looking for is a mix between street fighter snes and megaman. Retro with some pop. If you have a portfolio with level backgrounds and platforms or character animation such as running and jumping and are efficient in their creation it would help. Otherwise i am also open to concept art samples based on the video.

Thank you all

Yasir

sent you a pm my friend :)

Currently the work is being chosen for ability to create retro background art (i would like you to also create suitable platforms for each background).

And/or

Character animation + designs in the style of SNES characters (black outline sort of thing- but im open to alternate styles if you think they would match).

Regular contact and relevant examples are really appreciated. Colour choice, style suitability and quality of detail are my main interest and the more examples the better of course!

Please feel free to contact me if you think you can contribute something else to the project. I am currently planning on making my own icon/GUI buttons and menu but if you have a particular expertise let me know.
