bottom bricks are better.

for shadows, just choose a direction for light to come from, and then draw shadows on the other side of the object.

heres an edit on one of ur characters ....


NOTES


1. made shoulders more narrow
2. made hips wider
3. flattened feet
4. cleaned some shapes and outlines
5. desaturated colors
6. increased contrast
7. palette clean up (reduced colors to a minimum, the color ramps are sharing colors now, instead of each color having their own set of light, medium , dark etc.... note : its almost half of ur original color count)

why dont you try sticking to one thing at a time?  Youre not going to improve if you move on to something new everytime someone posts a critique.
