Making a game, here's the main character. He is a creature that jumps through the forest eating small animals. http://dev.linkpagecentral.com/images/projects/works/creature.png - Here's the original concept for the game
So just wanted to see what people thought so far.
So yeah. BGs are being done by Slym, sprites by me. PS: Lemme know if you are/know an iPhone developer lemme know.

Within the last week some iPhone developer was offering his services...dunno where/who that post is :(
I think you could shift your palette from slym's enough that they work together but share no colors so the sprite reads. Right now is all blending in too much.

also: animation plans, just frame by frame representations

That's the idea and works much better. Maybe as you work assets in you can further adjust shades.

I'm trying to work on the anatomy / pose, I'm going to have to animate a little idle breathing animation, so he should be in a more creaturey pose
idk, what think?

I like the second-to-last one's (Big-body/small-head) proportions, however the small-body one is more cartoonish, perhaps more befitting a game setting.
For the size/proportion I like the last one best, and think if it were cleaned up would make a very interesting character.

My bad, I thought those were frames. I kinda like the original best, but maybe original body with small head might look good.

Generally speaking all versions work.
Maybe you need to decide based on the game story or character itself. For example, if the main character sprite is the only 'logical/sensible' one in the game and every other sprtie is nuts then it should be proportioned (original body/smaller head). If every thing in the world is 'normal/logical' and the main character is the one that's nuts but he's clever/smart (big head/small body). If hes nuts and a total lunatic then (big body/little head). Or whatever tells you more about him and helps the story. If you don't have a story, at least a synopsis in your head, do that now.
Lovin' the bunny :)

I'd say out of those, 2nd makes the most sense. And I also, the game is sort of scary, but we don't want to to be too real, so a ridiculousish creature is okay.
someone said the highlights were stupid too

Ears should perk up when noticing something. Animals, especially ones like deer, have very active ears when trying to locate something.

This guy's body should move a little e.g breath or sway. He kinda looks like a statue like this.

New bunny with lots of motion and stuff! sorry for the delay I merged into 1 animation, no point having 2, especially since I had to extend the shake into 8 frames anyway. idk about the tail wag yet.
next is jump

I think it would look a little more natural if there were two idles - a standing and breathing, and one with the head tilt as it is now - and alternate between them, so it doesnt look quite so repetitive. but i do like how it is now. The breathing makes it seem very scrawny and weak >:D

I really don't think 2 idles is necessary, you'll barely see the rabbits, you're chasing them through the forest, not visiting them in a petting zoo. I wouldn't be surprised if you only every saw it loop once.

Been very busy lately. Here is a mock-up with some GUI. Color changes, moss added, etc. Some parts of the moss are obviously unfinished, and the rocks still need a bit of editing.
Iphone

Sorry for the weird colors, photoshop 7.0's gamma settings are a hot mess. Oh and don't mind the different heart sizes, the larger ones are obviously the current ones. :mean:
I uploaded the screens as pictures on my iPod :P
