I am is seeking a talented pixel artist to assist us in development of our upcoming game for iOS and Android devices. We currently do not have a working title, we are batting around a few ideas but haven't settled on one.

As the title states, it is a Scifi Action game; a little creepy, a little silly, largely fun and interesting. The style is a First Person Shooter similar to the Build engine games of the 90s like Wolfenstein, DukeNukem3d, and Shadow Warrior. We are trying to recreate a "B movie" feel, with chilling cyborgs, disgusting mutants, and dastardly denizens of the beyond.

What we want are animated 2d sprites, front/back/left/right, with a few frames of animation per. The first sprite will be used to gauge exact resolution/frame count requirements for our desired effect, so I apologize that we don't have that figured out already. (My current experimenting is leaning towards either 64x128 or 128x128 for wider creatures)

We have concept work done for a few of the creatures, however the artist we were working with has been booked for the next few months, so we don't have everything concepted out. We will provide descriptions of the unconcepted creatures, and provide a bonus if you are able to work from our descriptions to get a good sprite design.

Payment will be via paypal, on an agreed per asset rate, or by the hour if you prefer, though I understand that can be hard to gauge for both parties. The way I'd prefer to work, is have you draw the basic sprite, facing forward, 1 frame. After the first frame is complete, I'll pay half of the total agreed amount, then pay the 2nd half after the animated sprite is completed. Our budget is on a rolling basis, so we may only be able to afford 1-2 assets per month, but it will be a steady order of 1-2 per month until we are done.

If it makes a difference, I'm 29 years old, and not going to drop off the planet or leave you hanging for payment.

You can either send me PM here, or send me an email. I do check my email much more often, so that would be preferable. Eric.Richards@recursiveabstraction.com

Thank you for your time

Hey! Linked is a pretty comprehensive portfolio embedded in a post. What you see is a lot of cartoony stuff for retro games, but I am confident I can meet your stylistic needs. Check it out and see what you think!
