Hello guys,
I now started to make a car for my http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12504 - roguelike game . Therefor I found a very neat reference: a texture from http://www.kennethfejer.com/images/lowpoly_cars.png - kenneth frejer .
Here's the result:

I am working on the side view as well but it doesn't look good enough to post it just yet.

Seeing Kenneth's site and i have no doubt that his inspiration is from Mega Man Legends xD... I dont have too much to tell ya, but i like the car style!

I am still not happy with the side view version of the previous car sprite, so I thought about "drawing" only one side of my cars: the top one.
Since roguelike games aren't concerned about correct perspectives and were furthermore invented to reduce the effort needed to create visual content I think I will stick to this top down view:

I also made a "normal" car and a police car (inspired by GTA 1). Not sure if they fit to my overall game graphics, though.

I added a taxi that is also inspired by GTA 1.

I think the fast, red car really doesn't fit to the other graphics. :-(

If I was gonna play this game, I would much rather see the perspective you chose in your first post. That was exactly what I felt your cars needed in your mockup. You did a great job at the front and back too.
Don't give up on that "angle" or "view" if the side wasn't turning out well. Just work at it and tweak it until it meets your expectations. Even if it takes days, or weeks, at least you would be satisfied and probably learn something as well. I really think the top down cars conflict with the bird's eye view of the people and buildings.
You really should consider sticking with your first post car style it doesn't look as flat
