I'm trying to improve this piece to make hit the gallery but I'm not sure about how to do it. I'm also going to make a 200x200px version. I aready made some improvements since my first try. I made some changes on the hat since last version. So, anything I could do to make it look better ? Will also appreciate some advice to make it 200x200.
Btw I already took a look at the tutorials..

He looks a tad flat. I did a quick (and lazy) edit on the shading. I feel like it's coming either from behind him a bit or directly at his right side, so I added a lot more dark onto his right side. I'm not sure of how an otter's face is shaped, so no guarantees there. (You might want to grab some references. ^^)
From where I saw the light source, most of the otter is cast in shadow. This'll help him look a lot less flat. You can even go and pop darker shadows into those shadows... like between the neck/face/thing and arm.
But shading it more will help a lot. : )

Added more shadow, moved the hat just a bit so it's more centered. Otters are quite slim while mine is bulky but I'm okay with that.

Made the shadow more dark. I feel that it needs another shadow on the body, am I not right ?

That's a lot better. :D
And yess, I think it could definitely use more shadow, like extended across the chest, not just between the arm and body.
