I would like to know if there's anything i could improve on the pallete, shading, textures and anatomy, also hints on how to make the head.

The legs are waaay too short for the rest of the body. From the hips up its great though. I wouldn't know much about palettes so I can't really help there. But with the head, start with two lines, one going across where the eyes would be and one going down the middle of where the nose would be. Then halfway between the nose and the chin, put a third line and that's where the mouth will be. After that you should be able to tell where to put the facial features, then just keep posting your progress on here and we'll tell you what needs fixing.
I like your style and I can't wait to see it finished.

Instead of trying to redraw the legs, i attempted to shrink the chest, also making the chestpiece of the armor fitting the body better. (sounds like a lazy way to solve? O_o)
I tried what you mean by the facial lines, but i'm not sure yet about how to make the eyes on the angled view, even if inside the helmet, which i don't plan to make dropping any excessive shadows that would hide any details on the face.

Unfortunately, to pull off that way of doing it, you'd have to shrink the entire piece, and that's quite difficult. I've made a quick edit to show you what I think will fix it.
Going from the bottom up, I flattened the back foot to make it look like he's actually standing on something (unless he's not, in which case disregard) and I moved the back leg further behind the front leg to make the hips thinner and also rounded off the thigh armor because of it. I also moved the boots down to the bottom of where they were before, fixing the height issue. I rounded off the breastplate and made it overlap the pauldron a little more and I added in facial features where I think they should go, although you should alter them to fit however you want your character to look. As for shadows cast by the helmet, you don't have to hide the face, considering your light source seems to be from the right side, so shadows wouldn't really cover the face too much.
Hope this helps, - Lathien
