This is some type of starship I'm making.

I can't get the shading right...  I still haven't put in the fire and stuff coming out the back but the shading looks sloppy.

I think one of the problems may be the 'sandpaper' type coloring you're using. Usually space vehicles are sleek and aerodynamic.

Also, your lineart seems a litlle off too, in the middle of the wind there is a bump.

Here, I made a quick edit:



I think if you made the wings more aerodynamic and just used a solid shading structure you might find it a bit easier and more pleasing to the eye.

Nice job so far, keep it up!

Yeah, the shape makes it look alot better, not really sure what I was thinking there. As for the shading I'm still having a bit of trouble..  should I use a gradient or what?
