Another version:

Hello guys, this is my first attempt at spriting. I used one of Nesslug's slime for the outline of the slime.

I'd just really like some critcism and rework this over and over until it's really good. I think it's not too bad for a first attempt.

I'm open to any form of feedback, no matter how harsh. I really want to learn.

Thank you.

Great, I guess that means it's perfect, hahaha.

Anyway, I've done a little animation as well:

And the face of the little dude:

I did two more icons.

A pair of overalls

The mask from the movie Friday the 13th.

I realize I'm a beginner so maybe this forum is for people with more experience. If that's the case, could someone let me know of a forum for people who are just starting?

Alright, well, I guess I'll just keep posting until my stuff is considered worthy of criticism, hahaha :).

Hey, sorry you didn't get feedback, but please try to keep threads focused on improving one single piece! If you don't get replies, keep on posting updates of that piece. And be sure this forum is for people with all levels of experience ;)

Back to post #1: looks like you use 'selective outlining' on the top. This makes it look jaggy, probably not what you intended. Selout is not really used anymore, I never understood why it used to be fashionable anyway. Maybe experienced spriters could say.
Don't AA the outside of sprites as that would clash with some backgrounds, but do AA the inside of the outline.
Is it supposed to be jelly? Then it should react to light with speculars and transparency. http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/new_icons.asp?search=jelly&dimo=%3E%3D&dim=10&colorso=%3E%3D&colors=2&tran=&anim=&iso=&av=&owner=0&d=&dosearch=1&ob=search&action=search - Examples here .
The glasses look encased in a rectangle of shadow: why? At this scale you can't make a subtle highlight as in the reference; go for a whole black line with maybe a sharp, short specular.

Animation: not bad, the bottom line should widen a bit for the 'low' frame.
Also http://humpy77.deviantart.com/journal/Frame-Delay-Times-for-Animated-GIFs-240992090 - never use 0.01" frame delay , browsers can't display that (much too fast for this image anyway).

Keep at it!
Also that robot looks nice ;)

Yay! Perseverance is key!

Thanks for letting me know. The thing is, I'll focus on a piece from now on.

I'll work on that slime then, you've given me plenty to improve on. Thank you!
