Hello Pixeljoint community,

I would like to get some critiques and comments on the following faces:

Actually, I won't use the whole faces but the single facial features instead. A face can be constructed by a pair of eyebrows, a pair of eyes, a nose, a mouth, a head and a hair style (and maybe later some additional stuff like beards or makeup).

The most important question to me is: Are the faces (or facial features) consistent?
...but any other advices are welcome, too.

In this thread I mentioned the menu used to create such a face: http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13607 - Character Creation Menu .
In this thread I show some mockups of the corresponding game the characters and the menu belong to: http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12504 - Roguelike .

Greetings
BrightBit

I really like your faces, but I think there are a few things you could improve.
- Smothing the eyebrows, would be more fitting to your style
- Adding hair shadow
- Reworking the ears (I really don't like them)
- Adding more depth to the eyes
- Also I dim out two colors for better shading. (Darkest blue and brown)

Maybe like this:

And to your question:
The most important question to me is: Are the faces (or facial features) consistent?
I think yes, just the woman's mouth I picked not, because she doesn't have a propper upper lip. Everyone else has though.

Hello Super17,

thank you very much for your answer. At first I thought noone would answer but now your answer was really worth the waiting.

I will apply each of your hints. Your smoothing looks way better than mine (my antialiasing skills need to improve). The hair shadow puts more depth into the image and shouldn't make the face composition process that much more difficult. My ears were bad but I have to admit that I don't like the dark spots of your ears, neither. I fixed that, though. Diming out the two colours also were a good move. I also applied your mouth critiques. Thank you so much. There's just one question: What do you mean by "Adding more depth to the eyes"?

Some adjustments:

You are welcome ;)

To the ears: I pixeled them in my style, so it's good that you removed the darkest color, fitting your style better now.
And to the question: I just made them darker (added two black pixels below the existen ones), their glances were a bit empty in my opinion.

Good improvements so far, I just would add the new ears to the woman as well, but I think you already noticed that point.
