Hello all, so I'm kind of new to this, but im making sprites for an old style turn-based RPG and here are some basic walking sprites for an example character. Shading/pose advice would be delightful. I might be adding some building tiles too.

Your shading is hardly noticeable, consider using colors a bit farther apart, As a beginner may I suggest using a premade pallet. here are a few from this site:

As far as shading itself goes, you're pillow shading. (that's a no-no) it's especially noticeable in the blue robe. http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5692 - here's a tutorial
