I am Jarrod Parkes, a Toolkit developer and project manager for the Elysian Shadows game project. We are an indie 2D RPG in development currently targeting the Sega Dreamcast, Sony Vita, Windows, OSX, Linux, Android, and iOS. Our major influences are games like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest.
We have an extremely popular Youtube series called "The Adventures in Game Development" that has gotten our project out there in the indie game development community (over 6k subscribers). We have written (also still writing parts) our own 2D Engine and Level Editor/Toolkit from scratch. We have a very talented programming department that has everything more than covered. We also have a musician, a couple concept artist, and a pixel artist. Unfortunately, we are going to need quite a bit more dedicated pixel artist manpower to be able to see our vision through.
Please have a look at some of the (few) in-game screenshots on our Facebook page to see the style that we have established so far. Recently, that style has been changing so we would expect you to be able to match it.
This is a very serious project that has been ongoing for years. Most of us are either in college or are recently graduated, and we are very serious about what we do. We have a gigantic fanbase too, so this is a very rare opportunity.
