I wanted to try something non-sprite and bigger. I've been messing with http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12795 - Dawnbringer's palette a lot lately.
Started out as the random eyes. Then went to a skull'ish background. Then went to a heart. Any who, hit me with your C&C, especially on AA. I'm a lil' lacking especially in the outline of the heart. I just don't know how to apply it well regardless of the tutorials I read.

Here was a quick doodle over the heart: (I'll probably do this as an alternative because I like the cartoony feel.)

I'll probably change up the image to allow more body in it and go for a skinnier build. It's just a doodle at this point. Any who, progress on the head. Cleaned it up a bit. Rounded out the eyes a tad, hopefully. C&C still welcomed of course.

It's not just you. I sometimes choose bad image hosting sites that aren't viewable to everyone. I'll load some imageshack ones up. Seems the site is better than it was a few months ago.
Well damn, after editing the posts the problem happened on the third one. Imageshack auto-signed me in. Any who, hopefully you can see the images now.

I like the head. However, this might come out better if you do one of those super-huge heads on a tiny body, rather than the bust that you have now.

the anatomy needs some work. you know neck and shoulders, but not the in-between (trapezius, sternomastoid, clavicle, etc.). To understand how the head relates to the neck of the neck to the shoulders, it's necessary to know the muscles and bones in the area you're depicting. Even if it's meant to be a stylized cartoon. also note the that face takes up the entire head, and the side plane of the head (eye-to-ear distance) is pretty slim.
These problems result from the doodle-turned-bigger doodle method (i.e. starting with the face and not the major volumes of the head)

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
I haven't had much time to work with it, but here's a quick change to the size of the head and look of the body.
