Are me and DarkAuron (haven't seen him here lately, I'll be sure to remind him to come more often since I see him on IRC almost every day) the only ones that do GFX and Program for calculators? (specifically the TI-83+?)

I used to cheat my way through highschool tests with my ti 83+. Thiose teachers never realized that i was a programmer with it. It was too hard for me to draw with it though.

Yeah teachers think that programming those things is beyond most student's scope. The language is really easy though. It's like BASIC i think but i could be wrong. I always hated how the grid was messed up and the exactness of the graphing made for poor symmetry.

ugh all the "cool" kids in my ap chem class cheat using the calculators.. That makes me really mad, but I find some confort in watching them fail miserably anyways while I actually learn something and do well.  Ha!   Well.. yeah sorry it's off-topic, but I just had to comment on this cause it really pisses me off.  Honestly! 8 out of the top 10 highest ranked students in the 07 class are cheaters! only 8 and 9 are actually smart.. that's not cool

Even if you don't know code, it's fairly easy to cheat. Just create a program and type in all the info you want right there. You can't run it as a program of course, but you can go edit it and all of the info will be there for you.

My school is wise enough to ban graphing calculators during tests, hehe.

i did some pixeling on the TI toom but i think it's really REALLY frikkin slow. as for cheating. at our school they knew about it, but allowed us to use them for maths etc. once we asked our dutch teacher if we could use calc's on our tests and she said ''sure, but i don't see what the use of that is'' after the test we explained to her how all our grades were so nice ^_^

Last (school)year I made a small isometric town and a platformer mock-up using my Casio CFX-9850GB Plus

Also did some programming... first game was a simple Rock-Paper-Scissors game. Some time later I did a game where you controlled a <=> to dodge the x symbols... it was really easy though. The game went really slow because the calculator couldn't handle everything at a decent speed >_>

I had a game pigs die on a tI-83 back in high school. It was a pig and you had a cross hair to place and shoot him if you got it on just the right coordinated parts of the pig would blow off leaving a lot of blood and gut if you hit all the right spots. It was cool I always wanted to remake it in flash.

In the math... uh 'course' we're working on now graph calcs are kind off required since it's part of our game developing education. It's stll boring as hell though ^^

I want to put in zelda on my TI-82 STATS. Don't have that cable required to move files between PC's and calcs though.

So who learned the assembly language to make fast games? I looked at that crap and all those "$" and such fried my brain. That is some hard stuff! The BASIC is easy though,

I knew about the official site but I was more interested in the modding/application part.
I'm not sure which calculators are suitable.
EDIT: Although I found http://www.ticalc.org/ - http://www.ticalc.org/ .

Lol, I have never needed such a calculator. In highschool, the most "complex" thing we did was graphying integrals and some other calculus stuff. (and they banned all sorts of fancy calculators).  Now that I'm about to obtain my degree (in communication science), I'm like totally mathematicaly handicaped.

I wish I could do some programming, is it hard to learn?

In most classes we weren't allowed calculators.

And since I'm not math savvy, I never really joined any upper math classes that would require a fancy schmancy calculator.

Our teachers didn't worry about cheating because the calculators we were required to get when we did need them only had a memory of 5 answers. :P They were more worried about us playing games in class.

in math class we have to use them and on tests we have to use the calcs that belong to the school, even if we have our own. but that's only in math class.

I finally got my sister to give me her TI-83 cause she doesn't use it and I needed it for math, but when i brought it to school (today) we started a new chapter and don't need it anymore. I totally saw that coming. On the bright side, I played games all class and didn't get in trouble for it =P
