check your proportions.  Generally you can divide the face into thirds.  From the chin to bottom of nose, bottom of nose to eye brows, eye brows to top of forehead.  The bottom third on him is longer, and the top and middle thirds are about the same size.  Also check the distance from the bottom of the nose to the bottom of the eye, the space between the eyes, and the space between the eye and ear.  Check the height of the whole head to its width at the widest point.

check the actual shape of his head, especially at the bottom.  Check those angles at the bottom of the head.  Its not so gradual and circular like you have, its more ovular, and the angles are sharper.

Use bolder shading to define the planes of the face.

you can use the globe symbol thing when posting to put in a link.

Thanks r1k, I could have sworn the proportions were right.

I'll look into your suggestions, thanks (actually I've saved your post on my computer).

Alright, well it turns out the general proportions for the face was pretty spot on with: 17/16/16. The bottom third is one pixel longer than the other two which are the same (like you said).

I've also checked the distace between the eyes, which is one eye width which is like the original picture.

The distance between the eye and the ear is accurate too.

its more ovular, and the angles are sharper.

Use bolder shading to define the planes of the face.

Will work on this now :).

Is it supposed to look like Jon Hamm? It's a well done face, but I see no Jon Hamm at all. I think Hamm's real face appears more elongated.

Yes, it's *supposed* to look like him. I think this version is a step in the right direction:

Yeah, that's much better.

I'd say it still needs some wrinkles/creases and a five o'clock shadow.
