So I started something; a dragon. ( as if you hadn't seen enough of them already )
It's supposed to be a young dragon.
Yeah, I know.. I should have made the whole dragon, but I realized that a bit too late.
Anyways, I haven't done it much yet, as you may see from the wings and the lower body. Also, ignore all those jaggy lines, I'll refine them later.
I was just wondering if this looks boring? Because to me it does. Is it the colors, and should I change them? Currently there are 7 colors. (+ transparency, but I'll add a background.)
Any tips and comments are appreciated :)

The color count is fine -- you should only add more colors when you come across a unique need for a new one. I think there are more problems than just the colors (which actually do work, though they are a bit muted), but since it sounds like you realize that, here's an edit for the colors:
Not that this is better than what you had overall, but since it sounds like you want a bright, glistening dragon, hues and values that contrast and shift radically help achieve that effect well.

I think that the biggest issue at this point is wing/lower body positioning. Currently, the wings are aligned as though the dragon was facing us, instead of matching the body position which is at more of a side view/slight angle.
Also, the front legs looks very rigid and seems like they are in an unnatural position. It's kind of like standing with your legs touching the whole way down. It's physically possible, but very uncomfortable.
If you're having trouble understanding what I mean, I'd be happy to do an edit. Let me know.

I adjusted the colors, wings and legs a bit. I made two sketches of the wings, and now I don't know which one is better:
ver. 1: I guess this one looks weirder.
ver. 2:
Are the legs any better? Or do the wings still look wrong?

The first version is actually closer, but is not opened as wide as the foremost wing, which is why it looks odd. The legs do look better, but the neck/belly scales look odd and seem to throw it off a bit. I'll see about doing an edit later tonight to show you what I mean.

I haven't done the lower body scales yet, as I'll probably have to edit that area. But I'd really appreciate if you could show what you mean (:

Kind of like so.
1. Tweaked leg positioning.
2. Broadened belly scale area as it goes down, and changed angle of scales to contour with the form of the body a bit more.
3. Corrected wing positioning.
Hopefully this edit helps you out a bit.

That looks much better, thanks a lot! I will continue drawing it later today.
