I was looking for a pixel art community that wasn't related to deviantART simply because the majority of the sprites and pixel art I found related to my fandoms were recoloured and spliced. I find this place and the front page was featuring some really nice work. It really appealed to me so I decided to try to be a part of this site~
I literally just joined maybe about a half hour ago, so I'm pretty fresh meat here.
Anyhoo, I should probably tell a bit about myself!
I'm 19 as of the 8th of March, and I've been doing pixel art mostly for about a year. I'm fairly new to it, and I've started out by doing icons on deviantART. I still do icons, but I think they are much better than what I made when I started.
I have thought about what I'd like to do with my life, and I know that I want pixel art to be a part of it- I love working with small details, and I love 2D games such as the Pokemon series. I've considered doing pixel art and sprites for games similar to Pokemon (or other RPGs, now that Pokemon's moving to full 3D). I gave spriting a shot after Black and White came out, and I tried to make sprites in that style of my personal characters, and several people on deviantART loved them, so I guess they turned out pretty good. I want to make my own style though, and not be limited to solely Pokemon style.
I wanted to join this community in hopes that I can get help improving my pixel art and sprites. And hopefully help me with things such as animating and even backgrounds/scenery. I'm terrible at bgs and scenes, but I'd love to be able to do them. I know I'm not that good at animating things, and I want to be able to work on that as well.
