Hi, everybody. I work over game. What details should I add in the second image?

I kinda like these but you should know that member voting in the queue is weak. Perhaps if you make several as a sheet or somehow show them in a more interesting way the votes would be better? I can actually see this as a sprite in a lores game looking great as is.
I would consider editing your palette just enough so that the 2 darker greens contrast better.
Again, I think its cool and OK at your current skill and will add to the gallery...just letting you know ;)

With tank 32x32:

While I overall like everything I do wonder if there is too much pixelling in the tiles vs. the player sprite. Perhaps the tiles should have less colors or details so that the viewer can read them but not be distracted.
The other reason for possible tile simplification is that the BG tiles and the sprite are not quite fitting together in style with the tank. If they all 'match' it would make for a far better project.

jalonso, thanks for your answer. Please show how you simplified a tile? What will you tell about other resources of game?

I don't quite understand what you ask about "What will you tell about other resources of game"

By simplifing the tiles I mean less pixelling and detailing to the point that you can still understand and read them. Or, if your sprites (the tanks) use 6 colors then the ground and BG tiles can use only 3-4 colors.

I am only suggesting, I am not saying what you have is wrong or that you even need to change anything. Regardless of what you decide however, try to make it all work together so its cohesive. Imo, what you have now seems like you've collected stuff from different artists and are forcing them together.

btw, the gallery has a 'redundant' clause so instead of adding each tank on its own submit them as a sheet. This is the reason your 3 tanks were sent back. Just make one piece of the 3 and resubmit :)

jalonso, that you will tell? I allocated new tiles red.

The red outlined edits still have the problem I see with your Bg tiles. They don't have the same 'look and feel' as the tank. Try to keep everything in the same style and design.

I can't make an edit today to show you so you will have to fight your brain today :p

I added colors in a tile:

I like this better but I want you to notice how the blue tiles have depth, lighting and volume where the tank is flat and 'reads' as just 2 colors even though there are 6. Keep everything in the same style.
Fyi, I like the flatness of the tank and its look far better than the blue tiles that are better pixelled but boring only because we've all seen that 'look' so many times.

There are many Russian PJers so if you really need to communicate in Russian someone should be able to explain, k.

Hey Unhero,

I like your stuff. It looks cool.

The tiles alone, and the tank alone look awesome. I think however, that when put together it looks kind of weird. Stylistically out of place I guess. Its like, your tanks have a level of realism, but are being places down in a geometric realm that doesnt have a corresponding amount of realism.

Good work over all!

Nppsf, thanks for your advice. I try, but the tank and tiles of all the same different style Can change a color palette?

Не то, чтобы римейк, давно хотел игру сделать, и пока начал с рисования, потом сяду за код. Просто танчики показались интересным вариантом.

Looking good.

The latter tanks are beginning to look more realistic if realism is the aim.

However, I don't think the black background works with the tiles or tanks.

The tanks definitely have a lot better depth now :D

The problem, i think, is that the tanks look pretty realistic, but the tiles look more like they're from Bomberman. The bricks would be HUGE: each is bigger than half a bush!. The bush/tree stuff looks fine, but the scale seems off for the rest of it.

Spot, thank you, background should be changed(it classic)?
Zeratanus,
thank you, I understand. Bricks need to do smaller? What about the blue tiles as they are? What can you do with the trees?

Posted By: Zeratanus
Date Posted: 20 May 2013 at 12:32pm
The bricks definitely look too large, but making them smaller may make it too busy. Maybe if the outline is low-contrast it would work, but you may have to think of something else entirely. As for the blue tiles, they look okay, but I cant really tell what they're supposed to be unless they're just big metal blocks.

I think the main problem is: the tanks look really detailed and realistic, but the tiles look more cartoonish and exagerated, like this:

They are each good by themselves, but together they dont quite fit.

The new colors look like night times, and old are the day.
