So here is my latest piece of work.
It's an alien of sorts inspired by the wigs worn in http://25.media.tumblr.com/68cfa2cf8e0d82976c69c0d6fea4c15f/tumblr_mko4cs3en81rb7p15o1_500.jpg - this picture. What I was wondering was if anyone had any ideas on how to make the texture of the monster, specifically the top half, look more like hair and less like a weird alien substance. I don't want it to look like it's completely made of hair, but just as if it were a mixture of the two (if you follow). Thanks for the help! Edit: Newer version

Im not that great with hair but try doing the darker parts of hair instead of making strands, like this

Thanks for the advice! I think I'm getting somewhere, but the roots still look iffy to me. I'll keep trying in the mean time but any more advice from anyone would be helpful. |
