Hi!

I recently made the "Bad Company" pixel and I was told the following:

REASON: Any art you post should be PIXEL ART! Pixel art implies that each pixel is placed by hand (no filters, paintbrushes, gradient fills, etc).

I'm not sure why it came up as this. I made the pixel by hand and as such I see no reason why this revision could have been applied to my piece.

I think it could have been for the slight white line that had appeared off of the side of the pixel. I'm not sure why this showed up here. I had posted the image on DeviantArt and it did not show up there: http://apatheticapogee.deviantart.com/art/Bad-Company-359139501?q=gallery%3Aapatheticapogee&qo=0

It might have very well been a result of the fact that I was forced to use a transparency tool to remove the background; initially, I had put the pixel on a white background. However, as I had done the same (and uploaded the same image) from the original DeviantArt posting to here, I don't see why this site showed it while DeviantArt didn't. If anyone could please explain (and help out) in regards to this, I would appreciate it.

If it really is a pure pixel piece then your file output or other process ruined it. As uploaded its not pixelart :/

Is it just the white line on the edge, or is there something else? I can try and fix that, it shouldn't be too hard, but is there something else that is responsible?

The art on the page now is not what I had seen before o.O
Looks much better but something around the edges is crazy. How did you come up with that? btw, what app do you pixel with? How do you make the transparent BG? I think you are doing something wrong in outputting your file, as best as I can tell.

I'm not sure...it was my first time pixeling in Paint.NET...I usually do it in other things (i'll be honest, minecraft) but a friend told me a while back to try in paint so I followed through with his request. I'm not sure how to output it; I just used the magic wand with a high tolerance to get rid of the background and make it transparent.

If you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it!

Also, it's modeled off of a Bad Company 2 poster. It's one of my favorite games, so I wanted to make a tribute to the people who made it.

I use Macs so I don't really have solutions for Windows.
Try using a tolerance of 100% not just high.

See the resource section for app help and programs available. Check the GraFX thread which many use to pixel and has a lot of extras.

Try to apply the antialiasing. Maybe, this way people will apreciate the handmade work. Try to place the pixels in a way that doesn't look too "random". The result will be much better.

I think you will find the help you need here: http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299

Check it, is really useful.

Good luck, hope you fix the problem.
