Isolation Team is currently comprised of three individuals, and we are looking for a talented Pixel Artist to round out that group.
We are currently working on a proof-of-concept demo of Isolation, which is a volunteer project for the entire group. If the demo is satisfactory, full development of a retail game will begin and it will become a paid job. We aim to have the demo complete within a month.
Artist must be capable of producing both character sprites and environment art. No specific art style is set in stone yet, but we are looking for something reminiscent of the 16-bit era, but with a bit of a darker fantasy tone to it.
Isolation is a classic style adventure game, inspired by the design of the Super Nintendo classic, A Link to the Past. Isolation is presented in a top-down view where the player navigates a 2d world while discovering secrets, unlocking new zones, and completing a series of dangerous dungeons. Like games of this nature, Isolation sticks to a few traditions. The majority of the games structure and objective takes place within the confines of lovingly crafted dungeons. These dungeons are the games main progression, and are tied together by an overworld that presents itself as a far more safe and mysterious place for the players to explore.
In a world barren of civilization and ravaged by the wilds, Isolation attempts to recreate the sense of exploration and discovery in a dangerous land that was present in the original Legend of Zelda. Towns and safezones are not scattered throughout the overworld. Natural environments and destroyed remnants of the past dot the landscape as the player seeks to uncover the lands mysteries and reveal it's hidden dungeons to conquer.
Isolation is a throwback in every sense of the word. Emphasizing discovery, challenge, and puzzles over the linear hand-holding adventures we are given in modern gaming. Isolation is a game for fans of the classic Zelda titles, and the numerous RPGs and adventures of that era.
