Just wanted to get some feedback. Everything's just about finished except for the landing gear. 14 colors.

Here's the ship in flight mode with landing gear retracted. I might add some dithering to the warp trail and balls of energy directly at the back of the ship. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

It looks good. I'm not too sure any veterans will actually reply and give feed back, because its not exactly 'pixel art'. I only say this because I see you are new and this is your first post / thread, so you don't wonder why. but your model itself is very beautiful. :)

Thanks for your comment, but I beg to differ about it not being pixel art. Each pixel was placed by hand, There's no anti-aliasing anywhere. There's no more detail her than in an eboy painting.

Thanks Kyle. Though, the only guy who tried to give me any suggestions told me it wasn't pixel art (?), so I had to resize to show the pixels better.

Hey man, overall quite neat. You have a fair few instances of banding. You also have plenty of shades that could be used as AA. The purple rim-lighting could use being more prominent as it's not really that visible. I'd like to see some details inside the 'cockpit'. The railings really stick out a bit too much due to their jaggy nature and large contrast.

Nice job, so far, and welcome to pixeljoint! (and a merry welcome to kyle, too)
I would suggest that you have your lightsource coming from that light stream. The cannister (thing) on the top has a lightsource coming from the bottom-right, and the ship has the light coming from above. Also, the interior of that cannister (thing) on the ship should not be receiving any light. Feel free to make the shading a little more dynamic, too.
Neat design, and make sure you fix that banding (that ultimaodin mentioned).

Thanks for your help guys. I'll definately work on your suggestions. Forgive me though, I've read the Noob Tutorials, but I still can't grasp the concept of "banding".

It's when there is a line of color in between 2 colors. The middle color is often the value in between the two. There is a difference between AA and banding, so be careful when making pixelart.
I highlighted a few instances of banding in red, and enlarged a section.
Have you also read Cure's pixel art tutorial? That has a small section on banding, and many other helpful hints and things.

I thought banding was two lines of the same color, all of my work has a sh*t tonne of banding then!

I removed some of the banding and added a touch of AA here and there. I also removed the unnecessary blue rim light around the engines and added more detail to the engine core housing (yep, that's what it's called ; D). I think it's much better, though overall it's far from finished. The landing gear and ship interior especially need a lot of work.

Its looking great. My only nitpick is the dithering on the top of the ship. You have plenty of greys to work with. What is that supposed to be, texture or a grill?

Yeah, it's a texture. Kind of a "no-slip" area where people can reach the hatch without breaking their necks. This pixel is relatively new but I designed the ship itself way back in '06 for a video game I'd like to make someday, so everything you see on the ship has some practical use in mind.

I suspected that but the outline made for a confusing read in that area. Test without it?

Yeah, now that you mention it, the dithering may be unnecessary. I'll see what it looks like without it.

The dithering may be fine. I meant only the line around it.
