| I think rule #6 just prevents it from being a collaboration. Because in my opinion and in my vocabulary "collab" includes each person adding on new things to a piece. So if we just make a totally new piece then it's not longer a collab but more of a contest of some sort... |

even though its not my right to do it it is pritty clear no1 like rule no,
6 it doesnt make it a colab just who can make the best evolved version themselves, i think it should be changed to u must use the previous evolution to base yours on, then mayby it could be made into some kind of morph, i think more people would participate then... so even though im not realy allowd as its not my thread... i change rule 6!! an heres my evolution..

If you go to the main site, you can upload your own art to your personal gallery and there is a button to set your avatar as one of your pixel pieces, or, you can use someone elses piece already up on the site. ------------- For every second spent wondering if you can do something, you could spend 2 seconds doing it. |

I've read this entire thread and noticed one big flaw: To you guys, evolution means add another set of legs. I mean, I didn't notice any evolution at all going on between posts 3-25. All you guys did was add more legs, take legs away, add eyes, whatever. The key is to GET BIGGER, not to add more and more appendages! I took the liberty of making another template to work off of, hopefully we can get this project started again.  slightly bigger than before, hopefully we can EVOLVE this time, not "devolve" |

hate to rain on your parade, but evolve does infatc not mean "GET
BIGGER" evolving is a life form adapting to its surroundings so it can survive better, if an extra eye means it can see better it might evolve to have an extra eye if an extra pear of legs helps it cover ground better then it would evolve with another pair of legs, if theres a threat it will need to defend itself it might eveolve to have horns ect ect, evolving is adapting to the enviroment so why cant we carry o with the old one.... plus urs is basicly the same but not as good as in not shaded or anything so i say we continue with the old one..... or infact start again!! its the simplest of things... a blob dont just go strait into a goo monster, it can grow legs, fur scales anything, and it doesnt have to stay green either... js go wild

heh i shouldnt go and eat while in the middle of a piece, now i dont connect rightly anymore.. ah well..
Aeolidia Prehistoria: after living for a couple million years next to water, as to not dry out its slime, it adapted itself to submersed life by sprouting fils and gills, and it changed its outlook to better be camouflaged amongst the plants inhabiting the river floor. this creature , not unlike Aeolidia papillosa, feeds on plants, and the occasional creature that lives on them, is very capable of survivimg under high pressure(due to its liquidesque nature), but cannot survive in salt water. ------------- ▄▄█ ▄▄█ ▄█▄ ▄█▄ |

heh, this reminds me of mine and skippers little evolution activity we did awhile back. So i suggest this one to everyone. In short terms, Im probably gona get involved. So i dont know if ill do next phase or not, but ill be in here at some time |

 Not too much of a change but it now has more of a sort of tripod arrangement. It latches on to fruit using its two pincers and sting. :O |

Unfortunately, all the edible fruit on the planet became extinct, so
the bug was forced to become a predator. It grew horrid sharp teeth and
claws. Sorry, I didn't intend to be sacriligous to your piece. |

the creature got to big to fly so he/she shed their wings, now its a
land creature it needed big teeth to ward of predators. it also needed another 2 eyes because.. *thinks* use ur own imagination. maybe the next stage of evolution will have even more defences

The creature's planet became darker and darker due to atmospheric
changes, thus it's eyes became useless. It grew a pair of ears so that
when it sent out high pitch sqeaking sounds, it was able to accurately
sense it surroundings from the echoes, much like bats do. As a result
of this, it's
teeth played a much less important role in capturing prey, since it's
head was now not as flexible due to the newly developed ear
muscles/nerve cells, so before losing it's genetic code for teeth, it
started growing three blades on each tentacle, which were stronger and
deadlier; more efficient for capturing prey. It is thought that when it's
diet
changed from carbohydrates to proteins, the muscles in
it's leg became become stronger and more rigid, as proteins are
essential for muscle growth. |

with the heavy duty claws and sonar they traveld in to caves, so they could communicate well. they went in further and further and eventually couldn't catch the animals that they usually killed because the animals didn't go in that far. they had to become scavengers and that far down the cave there was lots of shallow pools. they got snouts to shovel up the gravel at the bottom of the pools to catch the bugs underneath. their single foot developed in to three suction toes and they grew flippers behind their claws so they could move better in the water. they also grew a light on top of their head to attract fireflys to squash them with their ears and eat and unfortanatly their unfunctional eys moved up towards its own light |

I thought this'd be a nice change, split evolution. This peace-loving variant has formed a nice relationship with the native trees; instead of eating the fruit, it eats the nectar the plant produces and in return gets rid of pests. Its pinsirs have become proper limbs which it can use to hang and to climb rather than fly (although it can do that as well to prevent airborne enemies). I'd like to imagine the tree it helps can see somehow and could express its emotions to the creature by changing its shade. It would make a nice pixel-art piece. :p EDIT: I forgot to say, I changed the pallet because I imagined him evolving to mimic a pearshape to resemble the fruit he now helps and that he has a more gel-like body to match his new limbs. :p |

Just evolve the creature. Think of some changes that could've happened to the environment and how the creature would be affected by those changes, it's not as confusing anymore. Read through the thread, maybe that'll help |

After aeons of mutation and living on the edge of distinction mother nature came up with plenty of new ideas.It can shoot a acidic secretion through its "belly hole" which melts holes into rocks which it then hides in and waits for its victims. The secretion is used to defang them as well.Especially in regions where there are no rocks, but instead lots of underwater vegetation you see tiger-like stripes on its skin which make this creature almost invisible in the various high sea grasses. Its snake shape makes it more agile in the high grass or holes it lurks in.What may look like two little arms are infact its outer genitals (which is a great innovation as well ).

a parasitic creature that lives in swamps. the light on its "tail" is used to lure in prey through the darkness. It's much like an opaque jellyfish of sorts, and is that colour in order to blend with its habitat. It has two flaps of toughened skin which act like fins. Its head is also slightly toughened, as it is hard for it to see in the swamp, it was prone to bashing into things.  I know mines crap, i was bored. Basically right, its tail became more structured from all the jumping. And its legs were un-needed so they buggered off, then its arms extended for use as balancing aids. Then they started living in the trees because the were too much ridiculous bumping everywhere. They used some hook claws to catch branches and balance themselves. Their fur improved to protect the back when falling.  ------------- |
