A very common question but it sure comes up a lot... might as well ask.

I personally think Playstation 4 since the Xbox one has pretty much the same things it's previous system has.

[Oh and umm.. KINGDOM HEARTS 3 >;o )

I think we'll have to wait for their release to decide, for now what they say it's only words, maybe things will change, but if I had to choose right now I would choose PS4.

About Nintendo, they play in another league, I think we cannot compare them, they are some years behind.

And PC will always be one step forward from consoles!

You really considered Xbox One?
You can't play any used games for free, can only allow 10 people to play your games at all time and others need to be in your friend list for over a month, you need to be online once a day to play your games, you'll have to pay 500$ which is very high for a new console, you can't play Xbox 360 games on it, you can watch TV on your Xbox on your TV (useless isn't it?) and the list goes on.

Sky said Nintendo is in another league but they're not targeting the same people. Don't compare them. Saying they are behind is a lie. The console is meant to target a different public, younger gamers and families. Of course they would have different gameplay, graphism, performances, music, etc. They know these people don,t need the top performances to enjoy a game. And I remind you they still sold more on the Wii/360/PS3 generation.

I'm definitely buying a Wii U and considering PS4 but it's only for the games I want to play.

I already own a Wii U and I'm more than happy with the games coming out for it :) I also have a beast Gaming PC that I would rather upgrade than buy a new console.

however, to strictly answer this question, I'd go with a PS4, its a no-brainer!

Neither. I don't have that kind of money right now. I'm probably going to sit out this gen.

But if I had to choose, PS4 hands down. I'm sure I don't have to repeat what's been said about the Xbox One a million times at this point. What the f**k where they even thinking?

My one complaint about the PS4 however is that Plus membership is now going to be required. I like how it is now. You play for free but if you want you have the option to upgrade to plus.

As for the WiiU, it's Nintendo's same old problem. The number of hardcore games vs the number of casual games. It definitely better than the Wii's selection of games, but they're still mostly targeting the family friendly crowd. Also EA dropped their support for the WiiU, that can't be good for business.

edit:

Oh also... Kingdom Farts is overrated and overhyped. It's a hysterical fangirl's fanfic emo paradise.

It's also not good for EA's business. If EA was to release a NHL game for the wii u, my family would buy it :D In the long run, they are gonna be losing a bit of money from that choice. They have a handful of franchises that could be exploited on the wii u. (But most of their games are meh anyway)

It seems Microsoft changed the console after all the scandal they created on E3. That means most points I brought here are no longer true.

Maybe Xbox One won't be as sh*tty as we thought. But the fact remains that they did irreparable damages to their fanbase and their reputation was hurt badly.

I never said Wii U was bad or that it was for the same target, I think the same as you said Numberplay, I just say that they cannot compete in therms of technology.

And again, all of you hating the XBOne because the always on, just think about Steam and the things you can and you cannot do. Do not hate it because it has always on hate it because it's also a console, because come on, you pay at least 10€/$/£ for a game (comparing it to PC)

My platform is and will always be the PC.

BTW: greenraven start running now before kingdom hearts fans skin you alive. I agree with you tho

I am leaning towards PS4 even though I REALLLY want Xbox One for Killer Instinct alone. I'm a fighting game nut and that game looks awesome!

I already have a Wii U and once some good games start releasing for it I'll love it again. However, my favorite game from E3 was the unamed Monolithsoft game being developed for Wii U. Go on youtube and look up "Monolithsoft X wii U", or something like that. Looks amazing!

XBox One is so... Disappointing. Hardware isn't much better than what the XBox Elites have. That alone is enough of a reason for me to not want to buy one. However, Forza 5 looks amazing, and XBox Spark or whatever it's called is pretty snazzy and something right up my alley.

Ultimately though, I'm emptying my wallet for the PS4. I'm a Plus member, and I love how Sony's actually rewarding their fanbase with ONE free game PER month, for a year, plus 3 free games available to all Plus members right at launch. Clearly I'm saving money by buying a PS4.

That finally got released? I remember reading about this as a project that needed funding not even a year ago.

Ouya looks fun. If I had to pick though, it'd be PS4. So many good gaaaameesss. Infamous 3 mainly. :B

But 400 bucks for the console and then 60$ for each game? No thank-you. I'll watch the let's plays on youtube and take my Steam sales and f2p games over that any day. xD

I prefer PC and a Nintendo console.  That way I get the majority of what PlayStation and Xbox get plus all the Nintendo exclusives.  And on top of that I have a machine I can get work done on if needed and can use any controller I want.  :P

But currently PC lacks GTA V.  ;^;  Although I'm sure that's coming soon enough.

PC all the way. Down to the point that my next build (which is intented to last until around 2020) is going to be in a slick looking horizontal case and be placed in the living room as a mediaplayer with steam. Essentially, a console with more freedom and upgradability.

I don't really like the limited nature of consoles, and they don't offer much longevity, nor a great cost/value proposition. I have a PS1, PS2, Gamecube (and had a N64) all bought years down the line, and it's become quite clear to me that, outside of Nintendo 1st party games, there are very few games worth playing after a couple of years. Most of the 'hardcore' games are focused more on getting better looks on old hardware than they are about doing something with the gameplay and rulesets.

But. To stay closer to the topic at hand, I am considering getting a PS4 down the line due to the playstation plus thing, and (what is being said will be added) emulated PS2 and PS3 games. Which means I could play stuff like ICO, Katamari, and their currently in-development Rain.

What's going to be really interesting in the coming 5 years, though, is the capability of hooking up android tablets to a TV.
