Yes, I know it's not a very interesting subject line. Let's see if we can help to generate your interest!

Tamnk's Test Game(TTG known from here in) is an Online RPG. I have worked on and off for around a year now. Now confident that i am coming up with a decent product i want to show others and get some feedback as i prepare to a few others to help me test.

I am looking to go with a Greek style for the game ie, hydra's cyclops ect. I am working very heavily on this game and i would like to have a good artist or two to help me make this happen.

I know people hate hearing this but i really can not offer any money for this job. I have not made any and nor do i plan on making any. It will be a free community game. If you believe though that this game can be something, like i do. It may just be a great bullet on your resumes.



Here is some basic information:



2D Online RPG game engine designed with DirectX 8.0 and Winsock

Art:
I have borrowed art from the following sources:
Player Sprite - ORE by Baronsoft
Tiles/Trees - I got these from a resource pack which i beleive were ripped from maybe mirage? They seem to be that style and they were in the same format at first too.



Some of the Features already implemented:

Player movement
Player Communication
NPC movement
Shops
Basic Spells
Player vs. Player combat
Player vs. Monster combat
Items - drops,wear,inventory
Stats
Levels
Guilds(very basic, will be adding alliances and declarations of war)
Groups
Scripting(more and more of the game is being implemented or changed to scripting)
Large Scrolling Maps
Full screen/Windowed Mode options
Multiple screen resolution support
Skinable GUI which you can drag around the screen with saved positions
Inventory items are movable inside your inventory bag
Random Prefixes and Suffixes on items
Client Patcher
Roofs that disappear over player on map when walked under.

That is just a short list of the ones people are most interested in. If you have a question on something you did not see on the list feel free to ask if it has been implemented or ask to have it implemented.


When will the game begin its open alpha testing?
That's a hard one to answer. I program in a very limited time each week and progress can be anywhere from slow - extremely fast. I would like to say however that if somebody offers to host the game and has a reliable server and I feel I can trust them I would send them a limited operation server. I program on a laptop which I will not keep on 24/7 nor want to host from it. Anyway I would most likely be ready near the end of Feb or start of March.
