Hi, I'm David.
I started a meetup group in LA called Indie Dev Club, where game creators learn to build games from and with each other.
Here is our meetup group: http://www.meetup.com/Indie-Dev-Club-LA/
Logo & Deadline:
Our first event is a LearnJam on Saturday the 14th, and I'd like us to have a pixel art logo that captures the spirit of community and the awesomeness of indie game development. If done by or before Sunday, 9/8, that would be great.
However, I'm interested in a great logo for the long haul, so if you cannot meet that deadline and you are the best candidate, I'd still want you.
Format:
The files should be delivered in a square, so that they can be used on Twitter, Facebook, and Meetup.com. A 200x200 image would be great, but please upload it to twitter and facebook to check quality during your artistic process, as a smaller version may be necessary.
Skills & References:
The logo should contain primarily text, with any symbols or even character mascots you see fit to communicate that the club is about Indie Game Development and having fun with friends. (Now that I think of it, a pixel mascot would be f**king awesome.)
The idea is that it will look like the title card for a video game.
I think the Super Time Force logo (http://supertimeforce.com/) is really cool, though thin type like that may be less optimal because of the small size. Thicker type with similar gradients may be optimal.
Over all, I want you to have artistic license with it, use your favorite style, and enjoy making it.
Payment:
Depending on the quality of logo, I can pay between $20 and $50. If the group is able to get sponsorship or contribution from members, I can add to this sum or offer more highly paid work in the future.
I know it's not much, because I don't have much, but I really believe in this cause, and maybe you do too!
