Hello,

My name is Eddie, and I am the lead programmer for a small indie dev team. We are currently working on an ARPG with a 16-bit style. We are seeking pixel artists for characters (NPC and main characters) and environment tilesets.

About the Game:
The game is called Dissonance, and its our first game. The game is written in Java from the ground up, meaning we have a lot of freedom when it comes to adding and removing things from its base framework.

The game is in a 16-bit art style, similar to Secret of Mana and the old Final Fantasy games. The setting is dystopian, featuring corrupt overlords, massive invasions, and the like. Since we are in an early stage of development, the art style is still relatively open to interpretation.

Job Info:
This job is 100% voluntary, which means non of the teams members are being paid directly. However, if a profit is made when the game is released, the profit is split evenly with all team members.

We are using http://www.mapeditor.org/ - Tiled as a map editor, so multiple tilesets can be used each with their own setting (spacing, margin, ect..)

We use http://www.github.com/ - Github for code/art management and http://www.hipchat.com/ - Hipchat for project discussion.

Job Requirements:
Our only requirements are that you are able to work with a fairly professional attitude and are able to effectively collaborate with a team.

How to Submit:
If you are interested in working with us, please email me (ecp4224@gmail.com) with the following items:

  • Your Name
  • A sample of your work
  • Whether you're interested in working on characters or environment

Thank you

~ Eddie

EDIT: Here are some of the character sprites we have thus far:
