EDIT: This has been completed by a user who responded via e-mail. Thank you!

Let me start by introducing my project. I have been developing a free software universal game engine, kind of similar to the game engine used by IDEs such as Game Maker, Game Editor, and Construct. The engine I have been developing is called the SGE, which stands for "Stellar Game Engine" and is pronounced like the English word, "sage". More information can be found on the SGE http://stellarengine.nongnu.org - web page.[0]

What I would like is a simple logo to represent the SGE, released under a http://freedomdefined.org/Definition - free culture[1] license. I'm not particularly picky.

The logo would be used for:

  • The image shown when the game is paused, by default.
  • The SGE web page.
  • Official SGE IDEs and other SGE-related graphical interfaces developed in the future.

Since "SGE" is pronounced like "sage", I would want the logo to visually suggest a wise person or wisdom in general. It ought to either be 48 or fewer pixels high, or scalable down to 48 or fewer pixels high without loss of important information. Perhaps something small would look great in a "retro" pixelated style; such a logo could be easily scaled up with simple pixel doubling/tripling/etc, and it would probably look very nice.

It can have "SGE" written in it, or not. Whatever looks best.

I do want to emphasize that it must be released under a http://freedomdefined.org/Definition - free culture[1] license for me to accept it. I will not use any non-free cultural works in my project, so if you make a logo without releasing it under a proper free culture license, it will be rejected regardless of how good it is. Suggested licenses include https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ - CC BY,[2] https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ - CC BY-SA,[3] and https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ - CC0,[4] but I will accept any free culture license.

Since this is non-essential, I can't really justify offering a commission for it right now. So if you decide you want to do it, it's greatly appreciated; otherwise, I'll continue going without a logo for the time being. :)

(Of course, I will give credit. CC BY and CC BY-SA require this, so you'll be ensured credit if anyone else uses it as well if you choose one of those two licenses. If you want to be credited a certain way, please indicate how you wish to be credited.)
