This probobly shouldn't go in this section, but it's for and about the community, so i'm putting it in here.

Lately, I have noticed a "lack of effort" in the art on the main site. If you post something and don't get any feed back or negative feed back, try posting some of your stuff in the WIP section and get some C&C.

Yes, there are a number of great artists here at Pixel Joint, and I don't want to see all the great art get pushed back by something that got thrown together in 5 min.

All i'm saying is, put some effort into what you do and make it your best. If your best isn't great, get C&C on your art to improve your best.

If this needs to be moved, feel free to. I just felt someone needed to say something.

Thanks, Jake.

I would suggest putting issues like this in the support section in the future.

The gallery site will be undergoing some changes to feature the more exceptional pixel art work. This may seem elitist, but it's the only way to keep it clean.  We haven't decided how we are going to do it yet, but rest assured the days of two minute doodles taking exposure away from quality work will soon be over.

What you all need to do to help is to actually rate some pieces when they come in. Ratings are the only way we can fairly organize work that comes in.  If you think something is great -- go ahead and give it a high rating.   If you think something is not worthy of being in the gallery don't give it any points.  This will help us push the best of recent entries to the top when we implement the new system (most likely a weekly or monthly spotlight).  If members don't rate pixel art the system will not work.

Oh yeah, I'm not even approving icons that I think shouldn't be approved btw. Maybe we can add a delete button for the admins so we can get rid of those.

We are going to add a "try again" type thing where you select a reason for rejecting it... I had the list of reasons somewhere... need to find it.
