Ok. So some of you have seen the Weretiger(who still has no bottom half, poor fella) and have all been very helpful. Here are a couple of simpler enemies. The slime, and the red slime. In the original the red slime was just a recolor of the slime. I haven't decided if that is what I will do, or if I will use two seperate, yet similar sprites. I'm leaning more toward the latter.

My thoughts on these guys is that I want them to sort of have a translucent, jello like look, as if you could see the fruit chunks inside them if there were any. I don't think I've quite got it, but hey, it's a WIP, right?

One little thing I gotta point out... Who could hurt those jell-o friends? They look so nice, happy and friendly! You could make them look more like ennemies, or you could give them a real mean bite/swallow attack that makes them look real evil, with sharp teeths and all.

Anyway, nice work. Maybe adding some more highlight to show that it's a little more shiny.

Keep it up! :D

I've been considering the friendly thing. When I play the original crystalis, it always appears to me as if they are smiling, so I sort of wanted to pull that through. The attack idea is good though. I'll try to make some sort of fierce attack face or something. I'll work on the shine as well.

Well you say you will work on the mouth. Here the white is very bright and thus stands out too much, try a crack, like when jello breaks so you see the slit thru to the inside. Know what I mean? Otherwise they are cute, cute :)

I'm considering taking out the mouth all together and only having it appear as needed, such as during an attack, when being hit. Like so.

There is a reason I don't like making slimes. They look the same and are rarely brought to their full potential. Slimes can go into any shape, why not do a more interesting one than a conelike pile of goo? Also, I'm not too big on the colors. They feel generic (red, blue, what's next? Yellow? Green perhaps?) and I'd like to see more shine to them. Reflected light and high contrast (especially on highlights, which I think these could use more of) would give it a bit more character, I believe.

The slime thing is a little harder than I thought it would be. The red and blue thing is because the game(Crystalis) that we are doing orginally had them. There is one other, slime, a bigslime, and it is basically a bigger version of the blue one. The red one can poison you.

I had a few ideas for the general shape but they reminded me too much of other slimes like the ones from Secret of Mana, Dragonquest, etc. I think the way I will help bring these out is with the actual animations/attacks they do. I'll try working on the contrast a little more.

I wanna see the rock-monster, spider monster, and the monsters that look like upside-down octopuses with television screens. ;)

Although I am still extremely perplexed at the sheer size of these creatures.

Maybe it's just me, but I still don't see how in the world you can animate and use these images as actual in-game sprites. Are they meant to be just concepts and not actual game sprites?

It's mostly concept. They will be about half this size.

I just talked to the guy and found out my exact limits, so everything else I submit now will be exact size.  X_x
