Any fellow mac users out here?

I recently converted to using a ppc G4 with OSX. It's nice actually, much better than when I was forced by my old company to use a G3 with OS9.

The more I use this machine, the more I am falling in love with it. And the more it is reminding me of what can be done outside of the wintel platform. Infact, it's kind of reminding me of Workbench on the Amiga.

Don't get me wrong though, I still use my windows laptop for 3d :) I seriously doubt I can use this mac for 3d.

The only thing bugging me at the moment is that the keyboard is kind of odd (home and end don't work, which I use all the time), and sometimes the tracking on my wacom isn't as smooth as on the PC.

A G4 will most definetely run 3d apps. I run Poser, Swift, Pixels3D, etc, sometimes at the same time. Remember to allocate plenty of RAM first.

May be YOUR keyboard, cause I use these buttons all the time.

That's because a Mac is more sensitive than PCs so you must calibrate it to your touch in the utlilities panel for both the pen and the mouse. If you don't its default is for both the mouse and pen which explains the "jumps".

MACS > ISO

Ah I was mostly aiming that statement at 3dsMax, which I am a long time user of. I am willing to start to learn a new package, so long as it can export meshes to director. 2gb ram here

I'm having problems in firefox and dreamweaver etc because after editing lines I'd often hit end or home to get to the end or start of that line respectively. Ctrl + arrows is Option + arrows for skipping blocks of text, which I get now after experimenting. Maybe it's just this Japanese keyboard (lovely bluetooth number). Stopping using my pinky to Ctrl is getting used to, as caps lock is there . Once I can type without checking the keyboard I'll be happy. I'm sure the Japanese keyboard is slightly different...

Well, the wacom is just as sensitive on the pc as it is the mac, the computer you use can't augment the hardware . Coming from photoshop on the PC to photoshop on the mac I have noticed quite a lot of differences with the wacom, including the kotkeys, which react a lot slower for some reason on the Mac. When pixelling, I often end up drawing erroneous pixels. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.

MACS > ROCK!

Yep, me too on Firefox but not DW. I never thought it was the keyboard acting up though.

I was being sarcastic, since like me you use both platforms I thought you'd get it.

MACS > ROCK > PAPER > SCCISORS > PCS
