I've been working on some pixel backgrounds. I'm not a stranger to art, but a relative stranger to pixel art. I spend a lot of time just f**king about figuring out how pixel art even works, and I'd like to cut down on that time. Any feedback you could give me that will illuminate this process for me or point out any errors I'm making would be great, I might not change this particular background, but I'll apply it to future ones for sure.

you are already a great pixel artist. The best way to get better is to observe other pixel artists (search through the highest rated pixel art on this site, new and old works) and practice. You are DEFINITELY pixeling right and already pixel on par or better than the experienced artists here, just keep going. Artists I'd suggest for you to look up is A3um and Cure. |

Oh wow, this is pretty! My only suggestions would be to fix the angle on the wood pile and furnace. This is really sweet looking though, pretty amazing considering you're just starting out.
I love the idea of the door in the mirror. |
