Well, all beginnings are difficult, I guess :)
You could ask yourself:
Is the result what I was trying to create?
If not, in which points it does differ from my goal?
If someone else would have created it, what impression would you have of it? What would you think it was meant to be / meant to look like?
Not sure if drawing with a pencil or something "physical" is a requirement for creating pixel art, but how good are your drawing skills in other fields (as said, e.g. in drawing with a pencil)? No offense, but to me it looks you need some general practise, not only in pixel art in particular. but maybe I'm wrong.
I suggest you set yourself a goal and try to recreate it. Start with something simple. A fruit for example (something easy like an apple or a pear, not a pineapple :D) Look at the general shape, the colors, the shading.
Just my two cents ;)

I recommend building a silhouette first and taking it to being recognizable as exactly what you're imagining before getting into any detail. you wouldn't start installing carpet and painting the walls of a house you hadn't already built the foundation for let alone fully planned. that's my approach for most art. work from the base up and lean into foundation, those principles are easier to master and discuss.
i like your choice of colors! hit us with some more art mirkats!

I concur with Jackalborn. Hope my criticism didn't discourage you! The most important thing in getting better is that you create. Looking forward to seeing your next piece :)
