Good evening,

This is my first post to the forums here at pixel joint, so please excuse me if I haven't posted this in the appropriate section, but it seems like this is the best fit.

I'm currently experimenting with some very simple tile-able grass:

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with animating 2D grass (side-scrolling, not top-down) by hand.

I have had little luck finding any tutorials on this with google. The upcoming indie platformer Path to the Sky's grass animation is as close as I've come to finding an answer, but the pitching of the grass is clearly a product of the engine being used and not animated with manual pixel offset. Additionally, the animation I am going for is more gentle.

If anyone has suggestions for places to look with regards to methods for this, or firsthand experience, I would appreciate if you'd share.

Cheers,
bat bandana

It seems like this can really help me achieve what I'm going for.

I really appreciate it Clebardman!
