Hey alls,
I hope you will forgive the blatant promotion.. There are loads of great pixel ships and animations on pixel joint. There might also be some interest in our our group on Deviant Art, the http://shmuproom.deviantart.com/ - Shmuproom 
It contains all kinds of artwork related to shmups and shooting games. There are some selections of pixel art, concepts for games and a few flash games. Feel free to pop in and check it out. Some of the techniques are not limited strictly to pixel art, but perhaps you will find some of the work interesting all the same. If you have a deviant art account and would like to feature your own work its free to join, and an open submission system.
