Hello!
I create a portrait of random woman, and I don't know what BG use for this. Please give some ideas, and correct my errors with PA.

Hey-o!
Some things I noticed that could possibly improve it. First off is the nose, notice how on the picture her nose almost blends in with her face (almost), there is no dark line separating her nose from her face but rather her nose is just lighter. Putting a shadow underneath her nose would also help with seperation.
Also, her skins seems to be whiter in the pic than in your pixel.
Dunno how much that helps but those are just some things that I saw. Good luck!
EDIT: also, the nose should be angled upwards more.

Her eyes look too close together and the eye on the ‘far’ side (right side to the viewer) looks too high up/out of alignment with the other eye.

What errors I have now?

This is much more interesting, MWG. But the sharp lighting and vivid colours on the character is entirely at odds with her background. I really like the background, but judging by the colours used on the woman, it looks like she's standing outside on a sunny day, at noon.
And it looks like she's staring slighty to the right of the viewer. I think it would be better to having look directly at us, or in a completely different direction.
At this scale, I think a typica mistake is wanting to do the eyes with a distinct pupil, surrounded by a circular iris and with white pixels on one or both sides. Experiment a bit with other ways of painting the eyes. Maybe you don't need that white colour at all. Maybe you can use more brown to create some depth around the eyes.
EDIT: Also added a bit of AA around the lips, eyebrows and on that weird dark field between her face and the background.

@CELS
While you are right about what you have stated you have made a mistake swell. See the picture she is smiling. In your she appears to be frowning, you need to add emphasis on the smile and try to add less "sorrow" looking eyes. I like your eyes better then his but your droop down some, whilst smiling the human cheek muscles would not allow for drooping.
Eyes form a semi circle appearance compared to droopy
Here is a good comparison, but notice he is old and eye shape is different

Thanks, Limes, you're entirely correct. Now that you mention it, I don't know if I ever give much thought to whether or not a portrait (especially pixel art) looks similar to its reference, as long as it looks good. Unless the whole point is to capture something specific, like an emotion.
You'll notice I didn't draw her mouth as smiling, nor did MWG.
For this piece, I think a sad face makes as much sense as a happy face, given that the background is creepy as sh*t.
Maybe you have some critique for the OP too?

Some changes. Now I need help with BG, namely with trees and ground.
In the foreground is a lake, while specially without reflections.

Are you aiming for photorealistic? Because then you could do with a lot more subtlety and smoothness. I think the last one works a tonne better already due to less black outlining.
