Hey all. First time posting here, but I've been really enjoying working on this tileset and I wanted to get an opinion on the color choices, or see if anyone has any better suggestions. Honestly, color theory and choice is usually where I suffer, so any help would be awesome.
So here's the tileset I've been working on. (don't pay any attention to the darker rocks underneath the middle section, they're just some quick placeholder I made. I'll refine them later) The one on the left is the original color scheme I chose. I'm not entirely sure why I went with pink and purple, I just thought they looked good, and they were fun colors. But after a while, I thought maybe a blue-to-purple hue would be better for a cave. At the same time, it's also pretty cliche to have a blue cave.
So anyway, any help on color critique would be great. Which one looks better to you, left or right? And if so why? Also, if you'd like to suggest different colors, that's possible too. I like experimenting while I'm working on this.

Thanks in advance!

I prefer the cave with pink and purple colours. I think having both cool and warm colours intermingling is more "fun" to look at.

Left, with the hot pink. Much more legible in terms of important/usable surfaces.
I do think it still feels too much like underwater, though, and lacking in contrast. Maybe change the background blue to a dark gray? Maybe a hint of red even?
Also, the tileset is incredibly smooth and straight for a cave. I'd suggest adding a slight bit of unevenness to the walkable bits, and even more chunkiness to the walls and ceiling.

Thanks guys! It's funny how coming back to it a day later can change your perspective. I've been staring at the pink and purple for so long that when I changed it to blue and purple I couldn't tell which I liked better. But you two had some good opinions. I might play around a bit more with it, but I like what showtime said about the warm and cool intermingling.
As for PixelSnader, thanks for the input. I might give it some cragginess, but honestly it's gonna come down to how I feel in regards to the look. I kinda like the way it's laid out right now. I'm going for a more old-school look. I want something that looks detailed, but also sort of grid-like and blocky. That's actually why I made the tops of the platforms perfectly flat aside from cracks. But don't worry, I'm going to make some varying rocks and side graphics I can place around to give it some variety.
And the background color is totally subject to change. Just haven't quite figured out what I'm doing with it yet. Again, many thanks, peeps! :D I'll keep this updated when I get more done.
