Not sure if anyone will be interested in this
but I did a lot of pixel work on Amiga games in the 90's. I have a
website for anyone intersted at:
http://www.mjonesgraphics.com - www.mjonesgraphics.com
Check out the "Past Projects" button and enjoy. Some games I worked on
were Darkmere, Dragonstone, Stormlord, Rubicon, and Total Recall.
for a direct link try:

The mrjonesgraphics.com link didn't work for me (under construction).
Your second site has some of the most amazing tiles and sprites. The skull entrance, the waterfall scene and the moody village scene are all just stunning. 16 colors!!! I am in awe of your amazing talent.
I wish I had my old Amiga so I could play your game right now.

Thanks for reporting the broken link. Should all be fixed now.
And thanks for the praise. Not having used any extra colours before, we
didn't know what we were miissing. Having to go back now, from having
millions of colours to just a few would be quite a jolt!
Mark.

Your names is ringing a bell in my head... I'm certain I've seen your name on some games before... just not the ones you've listed on your site. That aside, you are awesome with the pixels dude. You could totally teach us all a thing or two (or 100). Might you be up for posting some tutorials?

There's a few games I haven't added to my website, basically 'cause the
stuff I did was crap! There's at least two otehr Mark Jones' in the
industry, or were in the industry. One was an artist with me at Ocean,
and another was at some other British company. There may be more....

Damn you Amiga artists with your great texturing and beautiful ambient lighting! Especially in Rubicon, this stuff is ace.

I know this is an old thread, but Mark was always seen as one of the best.
I come from back then, and I can say that going back to palleted graphics was easier than I thought it would be. The problem back then was not necessarily the lack of colours. The lack of greyscales was harder to deal with. Now you can keep your work to 32 colours, but it can look really nice with all the intermediate shades you could wish for. I have yet to do anything big, with a lot of subjects, but with 256 colours with 256 greyscales, I am sure I will not be looking for a "good enough" colour to add to that difficult pixel, or dithering like mad like I once had to for days at a time.

That is why it is always more fun being artistic director. I couldn't take orders from someone ever again.

I always LOVED the graphics in Stormlord, Darkmere and Dragonstone, and I loved those games too! Don't worry, Dragonstone turned out alright, I still have a go on my CD32 every now and then. Your dragons were some of the best I ever saw in a video game, too.
I haven't got to play any of the games featuring your later work though, sorry. Your pixel art will always be among my favourites, though!
Thank you for making all these Amiga games as beautiful as they turned out to be, and keep up the good work!
