I can't help but to think you are just 1 person. Anyways how can you prove that you are a team, you said "we just paid our lead artist" that sounds awkward and would make me believe you already have an artist, therefore why are you on a pixel art forum... Idk I am confused.

As a company, do you have a site that can be accessed where you have a portfolio or something of you and your company's work? I think if you could manage to shed some more light on your company (i.e. a website/portfolio) then that would maybe that would make for a better business and eliminate the wariness that most artists have when you confront them?
